Adding unix user & group

Below some useful command to add user & group in Linux. This might be usefull when installing multiple middleware version on the same machine.

For example, here i create a unix accounto handle my middleware installation for SOA Suite (mid70) . I used the same naming convention for RCU schemas.

  1. groupadd middleware
  2. mkdir -p /home/mid70
  3. useradd -g middleware -s /bin/bash -d /home/mid70 mid70
  4. chown mid70:middleware /home/mid70
  5. passwd -l mid70
  6. su mid70 -c “/usr/bin/id -a”
