Installing Oracle SOA Suite

The installation process for Oracle SOA Suite seems complicated when you start working with the product for the first time as it  need some Oracle software installation (duration: 4h). In fact, once you read the executive summary, it will be more clearer.

Executive Summary

  1. Needs an Oracle database instance
  2. Install RCU (Repository Creation Utility) : 10 mn
  3. Install WLS (weblogic server) : 10 mn
  4. Install SOA Suite Platform : : 30 mn
    1. server side: commonly name SOA Suite
    2. client side: jdevelopper
  5. SOA Domain creation

RCU Installation

  • Run the following command $RCU_HOME/bin/rcu and follow the wizzard
  • Naming concvention <ENVIRONMENT_TRIGRAM><LINUX_USER_TRIGRAM_FOR_MIDDLEWARE>, for example DEVMID70
    Select SOA and BPM infrastructure, this will enable the following four schemas:

    1. DEVMID70_SOAINFRA
    2. DEVMID70_ORABAM
    3. DEVMID70_ORASDPM
    4. DEVMID70_MDS, this is selected by default

WLS Installation

  • java -D64 -jar wls1036_generic.jar and follow the wizzard use jdk1.7

SOA Suite Installation

  • usermod -a -G oinstall mid70
  • chmod  -R g+rwx /data/products/database/app/oraInventory
  • SOA_HOME/./runInstaller -jreloc /usr/java/jdk1.7.0_15/
  • follow the wizzard

SOA Suite Installation

  • usermod -a -G oinstall mid70
  • chmod  -R g+rwx /data
